The Mass GOP Bench
The news that Susan Rice will not be the next Secretary of State has reignited speculation that we will have another US Senate special election. We have already chronicled Some of Scott Brown’s obstacles to winning another special election. The state’s bench on the GOP side, which is deep enough to throw a primary fight in Brown’s path, is another one.

The Kerry-Rice balloon has floated. Time to appoint Kerry.
Before the Susan Rice trial balloon was fully aloft, I tried to make a case for John Kerry as the next Secretary of State. Now that the trial balloon is up and receiving its share of arrows, the White House should bring it back down and make the appointment. And it should be Kerry.
