Crosby and Building the Right Culture

Political Pollyanna that I am I greeted the governor’s selection of UMass Boston dean (and thus my colleague) Steve Crosby as chair of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission with satisfaction. It’s a great choice. Then I read Professor Ubertaccio’s post yesterday and realized that it’s not what happens at the Commission while Steve is there but what endures when he leaves that will matter most.

The Dems and the workers

Today the House party caucuses meet to prepare for the start of Wednesday’s debate on casino gambling. This should be a done deal because of the agreement of the senate president, house speaker, and governor.
