Battling Press Releases

On the eve of the MassGOP convention both state party organizations have fired off press releases aimed at rallying the troops at the other party’s expense.

The MassDems missive suggests that if Charlie Baker doesn’t join his fellow Republican and former running mate Richard Tisei in boycotting this weekend’s GOP conclave he will be signaling his sympathy for the party’s anti-gay, anti-choice platform. Lacking a genuine front runner to attack, the MassGOP opted for an attack on outgoing Democratic standard bearer Deval Patrick by sponsoring a caption contest around a picture of the “absentee” Guv out of state.

Will Charlie Baker be goaded into a miscue? Will Gov. Patrick hurry home? The suspense is killing us here at Masspoliticsprofs.

Stay tuned.

One Response to Battling Press Releases

  1. Christopher says:

With Mitt Romney more interested in the presidency, especially during the second half of his term AND making MA the butt of his jokes in the process, the GOP really isn’t in a place to talk about absentee Governors.
